The post-race blues are a well-recognised phenomenon.  You’ve focussed on an event for months and all your training, eating and recovering has been done with it in mind. So when it’s all over there’s a bit of a gap – unless there’s something else on the horizon.

Post-race recovery – don’t rush it

I’ve talked about post-race recovery before, and how important it is not to rush it if we’re to avoid over-training problems.

At the moment, one week on from The Outlaw, my biggest problem is now not to continue to eat huge amounts as if I was still training 20 hours a week…


Prizes at the Alresford 10k

My son Jack and I ran the Alresford 10k on 17th June.  We both had a good day – 17 year old Jack coming 18th and me enjoying a good hard run two weeks out from my ironman race.  The race course is challenging but brilliantly-organised and friendly.  I’ve always either run it or marshalled.
